BESA (Building Engineering Services Association: www.thebesa.org) has launched a new technical bulletin which reviews product standard changes and the compliance implications to welded carbon steel tubes produced via a cold-form-route to BS EN 10255 / 10217 Part 1 TR1. Recent changes to pipework standards mean that certain tube types no longer satisfy the essential requirements of the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED). Therefore, use of the correct pipework specifications and procurement of the correct products is vital to mitigate compliance risks. BMTFA have contributed to this work, as well as the development of the new BESA Pipe Plus App, to allow end-users to make informed decisions on product selection and to improve awareness within the UK building services market.
